Yungaburra Landcare Group Inc

Club Info

The Yungaburra Landcare Group Inc. is a community-based, non-profit organisation that started in 1998 with the intention of revegetating the riparian zone of Peterson Creek in Yungaburra. The tracks created to facilitate access to plantings later became popular with walkers from the community and with visiting tourists. A major attraction is the possibility of seeing platypus in the wild. Other wildlife along the creek includes possums, pademelons and tree kangaroos. The group now maintains tracks and plantings along about 1.5 km of Peterson Creek and the Allumbah Heritage Walk in Yungaburra. We meet at 8am on Friday mornings at Allumbah Pocket (bottom of Penda Street in Yungaburra) to work on the tracks and plantings. All members are volunteers.
