Arts, Culture & Heritage Funding
Tablelands Regional Council’s current major round of the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) for arts, heritage and cultural projects is closing soon and RADF Advisory Committee Chair Councillor Kevin Cardew is encouraging the community to lodge their applications.
‘Up to $6000 is available to individuals, groups and organisations and this round has particular focus on youth, and mental health and wellbeing.
‘We are particularly keen to see applications from young people for professional development for their creative industries, career pathways, and arts and culture projects,’ Councillor Cardew said.
Successful RADF recipient Marnie Awram said the grant allowed her to explore new ways of expressing her concepts in her exhibition at the Tableland Regional Gallery.
‘As artists we explore ideas and, in a world that is image heavy and over sensitised, artists need to present their work in an immersive and engaging way to appeal to all ages in the community.
‘I feel it is important to remain contemporary and inclusive, and I strive to be unique.
‘I was able to make explorative works that allowed the audience to interact and explore and physically feel part of my concept through new and exciting media and art processes, which I would not have been able to produce without the RADF funding,’ Ms Awram said.
Find out more and apply online before 5pm Tuesday 8 October and contact the Arts Officer for advice before starting your application.
Small RADF grants of up to $1000 are also available at any time until funds are allocated.
RADF is a partnership between the Queensland Government and TRC to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
