Free Digital Skills for Older Australians
Tablelands Regional Council is providing free Building Digital Skills for Older Australians workshops that build confidence with technology and provide assistance with digital devices.
‘The workshops will be interactive and hands-on, and will include practical discussions and activities,’ said Mayor Rod Marti.
‘Topics for the workshops include:
- Device Basics — get familiar with the essentials of digital devices including smartphones, tablets and PCs, and learn how to troubleshoot.
- Online Safety — stay safe by protecting your personal information and recognising possible scams.
- Communication Tools — stay in touch with friends and family via social media, emails and videocalls.
- Accessing Services — explore online services and resources including government websites, banking, shopping and news.

‘The workshops will be held at:
- Atherton Library — 11am–1pm Friday 16 May. Book your place.
- Malanda Library — 11am–1pm Friday 4 April. Book your place.
- Mount Garnet Town Hall — 11am–1pm Thursday 26 June. Book your place.
- Ravenshoe Library — 11am–1pm Friday 6 June. Book your place.
