Garden Competition Winners
The winners of the eagerly anticipated and hotly contested Tablelands Garden Competition were announced today at a ceremony at Tablelands Regional Council.
Councillor Kylie Lang was one of this year’s judges and she was very impressed with the standard of the gardens on offer.
‘We received 23 nominations from across the region and judging was really tough because the gardens were all fantastic.
‘There were entries across five categories, and the community, rural and home gardens were the most popular.
‘We travelled to Atherton, Herberton, Innot Hot Springs, Malanda, Millaa Millaa, Mount Garnet, Tolga, Upper Barron, Walkamin, and Wondecla and it was great to be invited onto these properties and to hear the gardeners’ personal stories.
‘The difference in the gardens because of our region’s range of climate and locations was also amazing.
‘I was totally blown away by the pride and passion these people have for their gardens.
‘I congratulate not only the winners of each category, but also everyone who nominated and anyone who spends time in their garden,’ said Councillor Lang.
