A Network Of Information
We have five information centres across the region, creating an information network and providing community hubs for locals and visitors. Information centres aren’t just for visitors. They are a treasure trove of information and opportunities waiting to be discovered. Head to a local centre to find new experiences, learn about each area’s history and culture, and connect with volunteers who love our community and region.
You can also promote the tourism offerings and opportunities of your business at all of our information centres. Contact us or drop in to find out how.
Volunteer With Us
Our information centres survive and thrive because of the contribution of volunteers. No specialist skills are required and we’ll provide all the necessary training and ongoing support.
Shop Locally
Our information centres have a wide range of local gifts and produce. Choose from arts and crafts, boutique produce, books, souvenirs and so much more. It’s a great way to support local producers and promote the region.
Promote Your Tourism Business
You can promote your tourism business offerings at all of our information centres. Membership opens a range of advertising opportunities. Contact us or drop in to find out how.

The Great Northern Mine was once the heart of a booming tin industry. Herberton’s hills rang with the explosive booms of dynamite, while the racket of machinery at the Great Northern Battery was an incessant backdrop to daily life.
The Herberton Mining Centre now provides a relaxing retreat amongst towering gums, offering stories of those early days for all to enjoy and appreciate.
From here take the Great Northern Mine Walk — an interpreted walk through the original mine workings and the start of the Herberton Fire Trails.
Dig into the past in our museum. Push our buttons and crank our handles! You can pan for tin or pump your own water, learn to use a hand drill to make holes for your explosives! Make sure you look up and down, and search every corner … this museum is every explorer’s dream!
Find out more about the Herberton Mining Museum History Association.
Closed Christmas Day, Good Friday and all of February.

The Yungaburra Visitor Information Centre (VIC) is nestled in the heart of Yungaburra — a quaint town with more heritage-listed buildings than anywhere outside a Queensland regional centre.
The unofficial hub of accommodation on the Tablelands, Yungaburra is well known for its monthly markets, annual folk festival, triathlon and Afghanistan Avenue of Honour.
Drop in and see the helpful volunteers and get details about the Peterson Creek Wildlife and Botanical Walk, the platypus viewing area and nearby Curtain Fig National Park. Grab the Historic Yungaburra brochure and Old Town Loop map and take in the history and times gone by of this tiny town.
