Nominate For Business Awards
The Tablelands Business Excellence Awards, showcasing the region’s outstanding businesses and not-for-profit organisations, are open for nominations.
‘This Queensland Small Business Month we want to celebrate the business community’s significant contribution to our region,’ said Mayor Rod Marti.
‘We have 2885 registered businesses in our region, and small business make up 97% of them.
‘All of these businesses contribute to our strong economic growth, new investments and new jobs.
‘This is your chance to nominate your business or organisation, and nominate a business, organisation or individual in the people’s choice categories.
‘We are doing things a little differently this year — businesses and organisations can nominate themselves until 5pm Monday 6 May, and then the community can nominate any business, organisation or individual in the people’s choice categories until 5pm Friday 17 May.
‘There are eight award categories:
- Champion Business
- Community Contribution Excellence
- Customer Service Excellence — Professional Services
- Customer Service Excellence — Trade, Retail and Services
- Employer of Choice
- New and Emerging Business
- Sustainability Environmental Contribution Excellence
- Technology and Innovation Impact
‘People’s choice categories include:
- People’s Choice — Business and Organisation
- People’s Choice — Customer Service Excellence Individual
‘The awards will be presented at the Tablelands Business Excellence Awards Gala Ceremony at 6.30pm Saturday 25 May at the Atherton International Club.
‘Tickets are $100/person for the awards ceremony, three-course meal and entertainment.
‘We’re looking for category sponsors so contact us if you’d like to be involved.
‘There are a range of Queensland Small Business Month events across the region including visits from Dominique Lamb, the Small Business Commissioner.
‘These events are a great opportunity to connect with other business owners and community leaders, make valuable connections, exchange ideas and explore collaboration opportunities,’ said Mayor Marti.
