Abandoned vehicles are unsightly and dangerous. They can also encourage vandalism and arson, and endanger property, lives and the environment.
Registered and unregistered vehicles, trailers, caravans, horse floats, etc that are parked on a TRC road or public place can be removed if it is considered to be abandoned or causes a safety risk to the public. Unless owners claim possession, abandoned vehicles are offered for sale.
Auctions are advertised on our website, in the newspaper and on social media.
Under the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995, these vehicles have been removed from roads within the local government area. Unless claimed by owners, the vehicles will be offered for sale at 9.30am Friday 12 December at 30 Albrecht Street, Atherton. Viewing of the vehicles will be held prior to the sale from 9.00am.
