Positive Planning Decisions

The growth and ongoing development of the Tablelands Region were further strengthened by two decisions at today’s ordinary Council meeting.

‘An approval was granted to Mount Quincan Crater Retreat for 13 additional cabins, café and microbrewery,’ said Mayor Rod Marti.

‘It’s great to be able to support the expansion of this important tourism resource and to contribute to enhancing the visitor experience, creating new jobs and driving economic growth in our region.

‘At the same meeting we also approved a conversion application for a road connection from the Kennedy Highway through to the Tolga Industrial Estate.

‘The proposed road will facilitate the development of and attract new commercial, retail and industry opportunities for the region, better serve the residents and create employment.

‘This in turn will have other flow-on economic benefits for the region.

‘The road will also provide an alternative to the existing Manthey Road and Kennedy Highway intersection, which has known issues, so we’ll see better traffic flows and increased safety,’ said Mayor Marti.

The developer will construct the road and be reimbursed for the costs.
