Draft Natural Assets Strategy

The natural assets of the Tablelands region and surrounding areas are some of the best agricultural lands in Queensland coupled with extensive savannah woodlands, ancient tropical rainforests and some of the richest biodiversity in Australia.

Environment is a key pillar recognised in both the Tablelands Regional Council Corporate Plan 2021-26 and Tablelands 2030+ Community Plan.

TRC is committed to working with community and industry to ensure high value natural assets such as healthy plants, animals, water and land which underpin our economic security, health, wellbeing and way of life, are maintained, protected and improved.

In collaboration with environmental partners across our region, we have drafted our first Natural Asset Strategy and invite you to read it and make comment before it is finalised.

The survey is now closed, thanks for everyone’s feedback!

A Natural Asset Strategy was brought to Council at the December Ordinary Meeting and adopted unanimously.
