We are committed to increasing the level of recycling, reducing the amount of waste going to landfill, ensuring responsible management of waste facilities, and limiting the cost of waste management as much as possible.
Transfer stations are conveniently located for disposal of waste. Household waste can be delivered to transfer stations at no charge.
Transfer stations are not a landfill or dump. They receive local residents’ domestic self-hauled waste and recycling that can be separated into various waste streams for transfer to recycling facilities. They are not designed to service commercial quantities of waste. Commercial and non-domestic loads are to be taken to the Atherton Landfill and Transfer Station for processing. Contact us at least 10 business days before disposing of large amounts of commercial waste. We reserve the right to refuse large amounts of waste that have not been booked for disposal.
We do not accept asbestos at our transfer stations but Springmount Waste Management Facility in Mareeba accepts double-wrapped asbestos. Call ahead to make arrangements.
