Shelter Completed for Ravenshoe Netball Courts
Tablelands Regional Council’s project to construct a shelter over the Ravenshoe netball court has been completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
‘The tender was approved in April and the project was finalised in early August, well ahead of schedule,’ said Councillor Annette Haydon.
‘The work included a new roof, guttering, downpipes, stormwater pits and a 4m slab extension along the side of the court to provide a sheltered spectator area while maintaining the existing court run-off zone specified by Netball Australia.
‘This roof has been a long time coming and I’m delighted that the Ravenshoe community will now be able to use the facility regardless of the weather.
‘We’ll be officially opening the new roof at a ceremony in November,’ said Councillor Haydon.
This project is funded by the Australian Government under the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
