Tablelands Folk Festival

Let's Get Social
Club Info

Each year we marvel at the quality, diversity and talent that is the essence of what makes this festival so special, and each year it redefines us.

A folk festival gives participants and attendees an opportunity to express their differences and celebrate their unity with the Tablelands Folk Festival’s promise of magic-through-music being delivered year after year. This festival is now a part of the DNA of this wonderful township of Yungaburra (Janggaburru). It reinforces its rich cultural traditions as well as new and innovative music and art.

More than 50 acts will entertain you on this magical escape from everyday life. Don’t miss out on North Queensland’s best-kept secret that has been a firm favourite for years, all just over an hour’s drive from Cairns. Come for the day or camp for the three-day weekend! Music spills from numerous marquees and permanent buildings; colourful markets add vibrancy and delight; delicious aromas waft over the township; and everywhere are the sights and sounds of happy people enjoying a fabulous weekend experience.

Filled with talented musicians, a fully programmed Children’s Fair, a Colourful Grand Parade, and chances to try out new things and performances with a difference, we’re looking forward to welcoming you into our community. The vibrant historic township of Yungaburra is a joy for visitors and audiences. Stroll from venue to venue to catch the many facets of Tablelands Folk Festival

If you’ve never been to the festival before, prepare yourself for a rollicking good time!

It takes about 150 people working behind the scenes to make our Festival happen each year, and these are all volunteers. As the Tablelands Folk Festival is an Incorporated Association we have an elected committee as well as an organising group. All committee positions are open for nominations each year, as are the positions on the Organising Group.

Volunteers do everything that needs to be done to make the Festival happen. They check in performers, sell tickets and merchandise, check wristbands, answer phones, set up venues – you get the picture. The fun-loving, community-minded individuals who decide to get involved and become part of the Festival community give our event its heart and soul.
