Tenders

Tender T-TRC2024-32 was awarded to Stubbs Developments Pty Ltd for $173,745.00 including GST for the construction management of stage 1B of the Priors Creek Parklands.

Tender T-TRC2024-18 was awarded to Hastings Deering for a Caterpillar CW34 multi-tyre roller for $243,100.00 including GST.

Tender T-TRC2024-20 was awarded to Hastings Deering for two Caterpillar 249D track loaders for $290,210.10 including GST.

Tender T-TRC2024-07 for the Gully Betterment Program was awarded to S&K Civil Contracting for $873,404.99 including GST. $175,213.00 of unspent road capital budget will be allocated to the program.

Capital Projects

The Capital Projects Report provides a monthly summary of the financial position of capital budget expenditure and the status of projects.

Disaster Management

The updated Tablelands Local Disaster Management Plan was endorsed. The plan is the foundation document for responding to and recovering from disasters in our region.

The Exercise Inferno Lessons Identified Action Plan was endorsed. The plan includes ten recommendations to further develop and enhance TRC’s disaster response and recovery arrangements.

Advisory Committees

These advisory committee meeting minutes were received and noted:

  • Regional Arts Development Fund on Tuesday 29 October 2024
  • Natural Asset Management on Tuesday 29 October 2024
  • Cycling Advisory Committee on Wednesday 30 October 2024
  • Tablelands Regional Gallery Gift Fund on Wednesday 6 November
  • Tablelands Regional Gallery on Wednesday 13 November 2024.

These amended advisory committee terms of reference were endorsed:

Consideration will be given in the 2025–26 capital budget for the adaptation of the air conditioner in the Tableland Regional Gallery.

Community Project Requests

Approval was given for:

  • Malanda Community Kindergarten to replace their playground.
  • Tinaroo Sailing Club to extend their amenities block.

Removal of Cemetery Beam

An unused beam at the Atherton Cemetery will be removed to allow for stormwater work.

Addressing Changes

Weaver Street (to the east of Herberton Road), Atherton will be renamed Weaver Street South, and several properties on Castino and Hall Roads, Tolga will have their rural numbers altered. These changes are being implemented to reduce issues in locating properties.

Finance Position Summary

Operating revenue is on target with a slight variance of 0.46%. Operating expenditure is also on target with a slight variance of 0.42%.

Final Audit Report

The Queensland Audit Office has issued an unmodified audit opinion and provided the final management letter and closing report.

Annual Report

The Annual Report for 2023–24 was adopted. The report details TRC’s achievements for the financial year and the progress in delivering the priorities in our Community, Corporate and Operational plans. The report also includes our statutory and annual financial reports.

Atherton Aerodromes

Engagement will be undertaken regarding Atherton Aerodrome and a project management plan developed. Leases for the Atherton and Wondecla aerodromes will also be negotiated.

Millaa Millaa Sewerage Charges

A concession will be applied to the second 2024–25 sewerage utility charge for connected properties in the Millaa Millaa sewerage service area. These charges will further be considered in future years with CPI increases.

New Trustee Sublease

A new trustee sublease will be negotiated for a property on Stonehouse Road, Upper Barron.

Commercial Licence for EV Charging Stations

TRC will enter into a five-year commercial licence agreement, with an option for an additional five years, with NRMA for the installation, operation and maintenance of an electric vehicle charging station in Atherton.

TechnologyOne Contract Variation

The current software-as-as-service contract with TechnologyOne will be extended for a further seven years.

Agendas, Minutes & Next Meeting

The next ordinary Council meeting will be at 9am Thursday 19 December at the Coordination Centre, 15 Vernon Street in Atherton. The meeting is open to the public and will be live streamed and recorded.
